The exhibition presents works from the creation of the Croatian caricaturist Davor Stambuk. It will be on display in the Gallery of the Czech Centre Prague from Sep 27 to Oct 22, 2016.

The exhibition at the Czech Centre Prague pays tribute to the important personality of the world caricature - Davor Stambuk (*1934 Split).

Davor Stambuk is a Croatian cartoonist which started his journalism career as a sports reporter and artist portraits of eminent personalities already in dailies and weeklies in 1953.

He went to France at the age of 29 and after a short-term employment in an art gallery began to work with the Parisian magaznes in which were published his first comic drawings without words. Already in 1968 awarded a prestigious prize Bellus as the funniest cartoonist of the year. Over the next thirty years, he organized a number of exhibitions and continuously published cartoons in the magazines.









The initiator of the exhibition is Lastavica association - its main activity is to promote the cultural heritage of all peoples of the former Yugoslavia and the Czech Republic. The association, founded in 2009 expands the idea of tolerance, multiculturalism and humanitarian work without any ethnic, religious and other prejudices. It currently has about 300 members and thousands of supporters.
