WOLPERTINGER RUNAWAY introduces a new generation of jewelery makers living in Munich presenting the latest trends in international contemporary jewelry design. October 8 - 25, 2014.

Studio jewelry at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts attracts students from all over the world. The traveling exhibition Wolpertinger RUNAWAY represents the artistic development of seven graduates and students in their home countries. Before the presentation of the Czech Centre Prague, the exhibition was hosted in the Baum Gallery in South Korea and Vice Versa Gallery in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Papcún Martin, one of the organizers of the exhibition and also one of the exhibited artists explains the meaning of the name of the exhibition: "The exhibition title comes from the Bavarian mystical animal Wolpertinger, which is something like a hare with antlers and other genetic anomalies."

In recent decades, Munich has become the center of world contemporary jewelry and its annual exhibition "Schmuck" regularly attracts the world's most important curators, gallerists and collectors. Many of the world's jewelers settled in Munich and are part of a unique art scene today.

You can see the work of the following artists: Alexander Blank, Babette Boucher, Eunmi Chun, Junwon Jung, Martin Papcún, Nicola Scholz, Mirei Takeuchi.

Curator: Eunmi Chun
