The Assassination of Reinhard Heydrich
19 MARCH 2012 - 21 JUNE 2012, THE WIENER LIBRARY, 29 RUSSEL SQUARE, LONDON WC1B 5DP. No death squad in the Nazi regime pursued the murder of Europe’s Jews more actively than the men who served directly under Reinhard Heydrich, a high ranking German general during the German occupation of Bohemia and Moravia. The covert military operation to assassinate Heydrich was planned in London with the support of the British government and carried out by two Czech soldiers-in-exile. This new temporary exhibition spotlights the events surrounding the 1942 mission and unravels its connections with the escalation of genocide in occupied Europe.
