Czech Centres in the News
Interview with Tereza Porybna by Christopher Lambton

"Those seeking a challenge should maybe consider stepping into the shoes of Tereza Porybna, recently appointed to a four year term as Director of the Czech Centre in London. With a tiny budget, two full time staff and a part time accountant, Porybna's mission is to showcase Czech culture in the UK through visual and performing arts, film, literature, music, architecture, design and fashion. Mission headquarters is a long straggling ground floor flat, shared with the Czech tourist office, in the soberly professional south end of Harley Street. The flat's principal room doubles up as an office, library, conference room, and classroom for Londoners seeking to learn the Czech language (mostly young men with Czech brides)."
