A New York City tradition since 1998, the annual Czech Independence Day festivities commemorate the foundation of Czechoslovakia on October 28 , 1918.
This year’s events will include the traditional Czech

Street Festival, which will be held on October 1st, from 1 pm to 7 pm, followed by an After-Party  with a famous Czech band Cechomor; a classical music concert at the Czech National Building on October 28th; and, by now a New York City institution , the Czech Film Festival at BAMcinematek featuring the newest Czech films, held from November 3rd –7th.
