David Kalhous on a concert tour in Israel

Czech pianist David Kalhous will perform a concert in Tel Aviv during his tour.

Pianist David Kalhous is increasingly gaining recognition in the United States and Europe for his wide-ranging repertoire and adventurous
programming spanning more than three centuries. He has appeared as a soloist with Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, Prague Philharmonia, Israel Symphony Orchestra, Moravian Philharmonic, Chamber Philharmonia Pardubice, West-Bohemia Symphony Orchestra, Northwestern New Music Ensemble, FSU New Music Ensemble, and Plzeň Philharmonic, among others, performing piano
concerti by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Brahms, and Cage. As a recitalist and a chamber musician, he performed recently at the Prague Spring Festival, Gilmore Keyboard Festival, Symphony Space and Bargemusic in New York City, Czech Philharmonic Chamber Music Series, and PianoForte Foundation in Chicago. David Kalhous made various recordings for the Czech Radio and Television, and his performances were broadcast on WFMT Chicago, WUOT, and WFSQ. He was also the author and host of a series of radio programs devoted to music for piano and its interpretation that were produced and broadcast by the radio station Classic FM in Prague. Czech Television's Channel 2 showed a documentary film about David Kalhous.


Works by Domenico Scarlatti, Fryderyk Chopin, Leoš Janáček, György Ligeti, György Kurtág, Michael Barolsky, and a world premiere of Miroslav Srnka's track 02 will be on the programme.
