Wars of the Fathers
An interview and discussion with authors Annette Kobak and Roger Darlington.
Annette Kobak is an established literary figure and the author of “Joe’s War: My Father Decoded”, published by Virago 15 February 2004. Her book describes both the wartime experiences of her Slovak-born father who never talked about his past and her own journey in search of that past.
BCSA member Roger Darlington is the author of “Night Hawk/Noční jestřáb”, an account of the wartime exploits of the father-in-law he never knew, RAF ace Karel Kuttelwascher.
In an interview conducted by Lucia Faltin of the Cambridge Centre for the Study of the Jewish-Christian Relations they will discuss the difficulties and rewards involved in recovering personal histories of this kind.
