The ICONIC RUINS? exhibition was created as part of Shared Cities: Creative Momentum - an international network for creative discourse at the intersection of architecture, art, urbanism and the sharing economy. From 2016 to 2020, Shared Cities brings together eleven partners from seven major European cities (Belgrade, Berlin, Bratislava, Budapest, Katowice, Prague and Warsaw) with the ambition to show urban citizens that their participation and cooperation is essential for creating a pleasant and valuable urban environment.

The year 2020 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Adolf Loos (1870–1933), a world-renowned epitome of modern interwar architecture of Moravian descent, whose ideas and implementations influenced contemporary architecture and inspired later events and trends in contemporary architecture on an international scale.

The Czech Centres have decided to pay tribute to Adolf Loos with a solo exhibition project, which aims to present Loos’ unique interior design work as a result of the architect’s long-term activity in Pilsen in the first third of the 20thcentury, which is not very well known to the international audience.
