Letní Live Videoshow na Facebooku Českého centra New York.

JIŽ BRZY
Dalším hostem bude Radka Salcmannová

V úterý, 21. června v 16 hodin se setkáme s naším prvním hostem, mladým českým hercem Ronaldem Prokešem.

České centrum New York otevírá novou kapitolu onlinového programu. Začínáme letnímy žívými přenosy z bezpečného prostoru v bytě vysoko nad New York City.

Dodržujeme pravidla pandemie Covid-19, ale zároveň se snažíme plnit naše hlavní poslání: propagaci české kultury ve Spojených státech amerických.

Pokud situace dovolí, představíme jednou týdně zajímavého hosta.

Ronald Prokeš – Czech actor and musician in New York
Ronald was born in Brtnice, Velke Popovice, a village just east of the Czech capital, Prague. His mother still lives there and he still calls it home. He went to the first English speaking kindergarten in the Czech Republic and then continued his education in English at the English College in Prague. This is where his love of acting was allowed to develop.

He acted in many plays there alongside professional theater companies, such as Prague Shakespeare Company. With them he played in the Kolowrat Theater as well as in Stavovske Divadlo – the same one where Mozart’s Don Giovanni once premiered. He also did some modelling for Elite Prague during this time.

After completing his International Baccalaureate, he studied Education with English and Drama at Cambridge University. Throughout his studies in Prague and in the UK he pursued his love of acting as well as music and karate, which have been a constant in his life.

From the UK, he moved west to the East coast of the US to study acting at the News York University Tisch School of the Arts. This year he completed his M.F.A. there, becoming the first Czech to have done so.

He also founded a small theatre company called DuoMuzi. Their production of a two-man Antony and Cleopatra as well as their original work toured London, Athens, NYC and multiple locations along the East coast of the US. They even made it to California. Ronald Prokeš is now eagerly working towards starting his acting and music career in the US.

This program is sponsored by Trebitsch Whisky, first Czech single malt whisky in the US.
